SCAMPI Readiness Review

The Appraisal Readiness Review will determine if the appraisal team and organization are prepared and ready for the planned formal appraisal.  We review an inventory of the objective evidence and determine if sufficient objective evidence is available to proceed with the appraisal as it is currently planned.  We ensure the appraisal team is functioning appropriately and provide any team building activities or other preparation activities that may be necessary to ensure the team is ready to perform the appraisal.  We ensure all logistics are in place and tested.

During the readiness review the appraisal team will review:

  • Compliance Matrix Responses (often known as PIIDs);
  • Organizational Documents;
  • Project Documents;
  • Process Asset Libraries;
  • Process databases;
  • Facilities;
  • Computer Equipment; and
  • Software to be used during the appraisal.

This results in a serious of readiness review action items which are stored on the PI-21 SharePoint site for the appraisal.  The action items are assigned to members of the organization and appraisal team with due dates which need to be adhered to in order for the appraisal to proceed as planned.  All appraisal team members, the sponsor, the site coordinator, and the PI-21 QA representative have access to this action item list to ensure the action items are tracked to closure.

This review is a required part of the SCAMPISM methodology must take place at least 30-days prior to the scheduled SCAMPI appraisal.  The readiness review can take place in conjunction with the team training during the final preparation for the appraisal.  Early readiness reviews can be scheduled as needed early in the planning phase.  If it is found that insufficient objective evidence is available or other issues exist which can not be resolved in time for the appraisal to proceed as planned, a re-planning effort is done with the appraisal lead, the appraisal site coordinator, and the appraisal sponsor.
