Darin McMillen
Darin McMillen (Solution Architect/Consultant), joined PI-21 in June of 2005. Mr. McMillen uses his thorough understanding of the CMMI Process Improvement Model and his understanding of technical solution development to assist PI-21’s clients in several areas. First, Darin acts as a solution architect to assist PI-21’s clients to develop in-house technical process management tools and systems to meet their specific needs. Second, Mr. McMillen uses his experience as a SCAMPI team member and process improvement consultant to assist PI-21’s clients to identify, enhance and document processes that may be used by the organization to improve their overall performance and meet the demands of the CMMI Process Improvement Models. Darin’s availability in this capacity often helps our clients get the help they need in understanding how to prepare for an appraisal at a reduced rate when certified Lead Appraisers are not necessary. Third, Darin is often asked to participate on a SCAMPI appraisal team as a highly skilled appraisal team member. His involvement in this capacity can often make internal team members become much more comfortable in performing their duties during a SCAMPI appraisal. Darin’s thorough understanding of the CMMI model and the SCAMPI appraisal methodology is often the difference between having new appraisal team members (ATMs) on a team that are not effective and having team members that quickly become comfortable and capable members of the appraisal team. His involvement can sometimes make the difference between meeting the established timeline of the appraisal or not.
